Day 8 of 30 Days Wild.
As usual the day started with my having words with the sparrows. They are such messy eaters, chucking half the seeds on the floor. The Blackbirds and Dunnocks do their best to clear it up but they struggle to keep up.
I then visited a lovely woodland site. Dunsdale Hollow near Frodsham. It’s home to a very special habitat type, special because it’s an upland habitat with upland plantlife, and there it is in lowland Cheshire!
On the way there, I stopped at one of the Sandbach Flashes to have a quick scan with the binoculars. Just one lonesome male Tufted duck is all I saw. Home alone.
And now, I’m tucked up in bed listening to Tawny owls calling.
