Four Red kite, presumably parents and fledglings. Hovering, gliding, swooping. Looking glorious.
Lapwing mobbing Red kite. They are so small in comparison that they look like tiny bits of twinkly glitter around the kites.
I just met an organic sheep farmer who doesn’t kill anything. And better still, doesn’t agree with killing wildlife. Even the predatory kind. I asked him if foxes took his lambs ever. He said “yes of course, but we all gotta eat aint we”.
He loves foxes, corvids, raptors.
I told him of my horror – that foxes are killed all year round, irrespective of whether they may be feeding young pups. He assured me that fox cubs are tough little buggers, and usually manage to take care of themselves. Hmm.
