I started the day with a Red-bellied woodpecker. On my midday stroll, I saw my first Blue Jay, calling out his name. Followed by my first Brown creeper, creeping up a tree.
Later on I visited some flooded farmland where wild waterfowl were coming and going in the distance, searching for the best roosting sites. I saw my first coyote tracks. And I watched a pretty sunset.
There were two small birds creeping about in the grass like rodents, just near the water’s edge. Sparrows. Very un-sparrow-like behaviour.
