A quiet almost uneventful afternoon. We found what looked like an active (illegal) trapping site. There was a net down on the ground, and next to it a small animal/bird cage. We couldn’t see if there was a bird inside, but it had a water feeder attached, so…
Using nets to trap birds is not legal. If there is a live bird in the cage next to the net. This would act as a lure to other birds. This is also not legal. A lure bird next to the net would prove that the net is active. We’ll return for dawn.
We finished the day attending an evening reception hosted by BirdLife. Sangria and canapés.
